The Motorsport Academy team headed for Cluj-Napoca in Romania, where a Transylvania rally will take place on Friday and Saturday. The Rally is a round of the newly-formed European TER Championship and the second race of the HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY calendar. The total length of the race is 541.74 km. of which 158.02 km. are divided into 14 special stages. On Thursday 3 May at 20:00 at the Cluj Arena the ceremonial start of the rally will be given, where the impressive number of 104 crews will pass under the archive of the Transylvania rally. The actual part is scheduled for Friday, May 4, when at 16:43 is the start of the first special stage with a length of 21.30 km. The day will end on headlights, which will be an exciting attraction for the audience with the final stage at 21:23 with a length of 7.15 km. On the Sabbath day of the crews, the remaining 9 special stages will be over to finish the final 10th super-special stage, Cluj-Napoca, with a length of 2.60 km. after which is the final of the rally scheduled for 19:00. Five crews of five nationalities will fight in a controversial battle to win the HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY single-rider rally championship, organized by the Motorsport Academy. Interim ranking for the championship is headed by Swedish tandem - Adam Westlund / Jim Hjerpe with a 30-point asset. In the temporary second position after Rally Brasov are the Georgians - Alexander Lomadze / Mevludi Meladze with 21 points. The Bulgarian crew and main contender for winning the title in HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY - Denis Stanchovski / Mladen Karchev have 19 points, which promises an interesting rally in Transylvania at the weekend. The fourth place with 2 points is taken by the Italian young pilot Claudio Bachella with co-pilot his mother Masina Palitta, she has a huge experience in the right seat and an outstanding professional in the profession of the co-pilot. The Polish crew Sebastiаn Teter / Bojidar Grzywaczewski are in fifth position, there was no chance to finish the Brasov Rally with leaving the road and damaging the water heater of his car. It is a new beginning for HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY participants after struggling with the difficult winter conditions - snow, ice, tough tires and temperatures well below zero at the end of March in the Brasov Rally. Definitely in early May, the weather forecast is extremely enjoyable and we are sure the pilots will bring us an interesting race that will also be unpredictable until the last stage. This year, HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY double champion Grigor Grigorov will be serviced by the Motorsport Academy team. Grigor is co-pilot Yordan Yordanov, who is also a graduate of the academy and champion for 2018 in the championship as a co-pilot of Simeon Simeonov. Grigorov / Yordanov will take part in the TER Championship and will fight to win the title in R2.
MOTORSPORT ACADEMY OPENED SEASON WITH RALLY BRASOV
Today 23 march, just at 20:00, the 53rd Rally Brasov 2018 was launched. The rally in Romania is the first round of the same car rally championship HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY. This year, pilots and crews from five European countries - Bulgaria, Sweden, Poland, Georgia and Italy - participate in the race. Unlike last year's rally Brasov, which was held at the same time of the year, this year the participants were surprised by the extremely difficult winter environment despite the start of the spring. The HYUNDAI RACING TROPHY Championship is very interesting and unpredictable with the participation of the crews: Dennis Stanchovski - Mladen Karchev from Bulgaria, Adam Westlund - Jim Hjerpe from Sweden, Sebastian Teter - Bozydar Grzywaczewski from Poland, Alexander Lomadze - Mevudi Melladze from Georgia and Claudio Bachella - Masina Palitta from Italy. All of them will compete in the season with equally prepared rally cars HYUNDAI i20 Coupe R. There will be a total of 142 racing kilometers divided into two rally days. On the first day (Saturday March 24), pilots will cross twice at the special stages of Brasov and Paraul Rece, and on Saturday night a super special stage is planned in the center of Brasov. On Sunday, the rally day is draving in both directions at the longest special stage of Babarunca and Cheia with a length of 27.50 km. The starting list for the Rally Brasov is quite impressive, with 93 crew submitting their entry form. The cars in the R5 category are eight, and this promises to the audience a very interesting and spectacular race combined with the variable weather situation.
